MS&E welcomes undergraduates to participate in our research program!

The deadline to apply is March 29, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Decisions will be announced starting April 2, 2026 and will be made with awareness of and in conformance with the June 2023 Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action.
The REU program's goal is to explore various research and become a part of MS&E's academic research community. Through this program, undergraduate students will participate in a quarter-long research project under the mentorship of an MS&E faculty mentor, with the opportunity to extend the project into the next quarter.
Time commitment
You will be expected to engage approximately 10 hours per week for at least one quarter. During your 10 hours of weekly research, you will:
- Meet with your faculty mentor to discuss project progress
- Work on weekly deliverables for your project
- Prepare a research project poster
Course Credit
Participants in the program will have the option to receive course credit (up to 3 units).
