Academic Year Research Experience for Undergraduates

The MS&E Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program offers research opportunities to students from any STEM-inclined major at Stanford at Stanford during the academic year (Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters).

REU participants are paired with an MS&E mentor, who can be a faculty member or PhD student in the department, to learn and engage in their mentor's research group and receive independent study course credit. The REU cohort meets at the end of each quarter to present their research projects. 

MS&E also offers full-time paid research opportunities during the summer quarter through the MS&E REU (Summer) program. You can find more information here

Interested in applying for an MS&E REU? The application for the REU (Academic Year) is typically open a few weeks prior to each quarter and the deadline would be the night before the first day of the quarter. The application deadline for the REU (Summer) is mid-February.
